There are days when Vancouver is not all green and blue or gray: some days, like late summer, it can be perfectly golden.

This shows Burrard Street bridge with dragon-fiery clouds and temperature tenseness. There is only a week or two every summer in Vancouver when we really *need* air conditioning, but, boy, when we need it, we need it. This is one of those days.

Funny thing about this one. I had done a few small versions of it, based on this lovely dA photo. Didn't realize until the fourth version – on large 48"x48" canvas – that the source photo had been mirror-reversed by the photographer. I run over that bridge at least once a week and couldn't tell until I'd painted the same scene several times that I'd been painting it backwards! So I switched it back. Personally, I think it looks better reversed but I'm a literalist, so the right way around was how it had to be.
