Drove up to my hometown of Kamloops this past weekend to attend a Federation of Canadian Artists reception. Two of my paintings were juried into a show up there (Backyard and Kamloops Winter). Getting in to the show was apparently a big deal since it was a national Call for Entry.

I managed to lure some old high school friends out to the event. They concurred that I am just doing what was always expected of me à la my "Most Likely To…" yearbook write-up. Never mind that I have been slogging away at a corporate career for sixteen years. The "Most Likely To" label is a blessing and a curse when you look back on your unfollowed opportunities and ponder whether you lived up to everyone's expectations... including your own.


Anyway, here I am at the show next to my Backyard painting wearing my stock-standard outfit. Seriously, I wear the same damn thing to every art event.

And speaking of corporate career: it is my last week at work. The announcement has gone out. It’s real!
