I managed to lure some old high school friends out to the event. They concurred that I am just doing what was always expected of me à la my "Most Likely To " yearbook write-up. Never mind that I have been slogging away at a corporate career for sixteen years. The "Most Likely To" label is a blessing and a curse when you look back on your unfollowed opportunities and ponder whether you lived up to everyone's expectations... including your own.
Anyway, here I am at the show next to my Backyard painting wearing my stock-standard outfit. Seriously, I wear the same damn thing to every art event.
And speaking of corporate career: it is my last week at work. The announcement has gone out. Its real!

Devious Comments
made m smile, the comment about the "stock-standard outfit", as I do exactly the same...I have an 'opening' outfit which only ever gets worn/warn when I am showing work and have to be there...
Good luck with everything!
Better late than never, 30 years late fer me.
Well done Laura!

There is no way to measure an artist, or their work, because nothing matters, but their vision. Their acceptance by the rest of the world is merely external.

See enough horror and experience enough pain and you become separated from your self.

An artist must create as often as possible. To cease this task is, to the soul of an artist, as ceasing to breathe.
